Travel Guide
Things to do in Hochatown, Oklahoma.
The restaurants, the shops, the rainy-day spots. What I tell guests when they ask.
Hochatown is where the restaurants, tasting rooms, small shops, and most tourist attractions sit — all on a 2-mile stretch of Highway 259A. If you're staying at Creekside Ranch, you're 5 minutes from everything on this list.
Restaurants
Mountain Fork Brewery
Local brewery with a solid food menu — pizzas, wings, pretzels. Usually my first recommendation. Expect a wait on peak-season weekends. Lunch is quieter than dinner.
Girls Gone Wine
Tasting-room wine with small-plate food. Good afternoon / pre-dinner stop. Pet-friendly patio in good weather.
Abendigos Grill & Patio
Sit-down dinner. Steaks and seafood focus. Book ahead on Friday / Saturday nights.
Grateful Head Pizza Oven
Wood-fired pizza. Casual, family-friendly, fast. Good for a group that wants dinner on the table in 30 minutes.
Polk's BBQ
Lunch spot. Brisket is the move. Sides are good.
The Blue Rooster
Breakfast / brunch. Southern-style breakfast plates, pancakes. Opens early, closes mid-afternoon.
Shops & tastings
- Old Miner Chocolate. Handmade chocolates. Good drive-home gift.
- Hochatown Distillery. Small-batch spirits, tasting tour.
- Local artisan shops. A handful of small galleries and gift shops along 259A.
Attractions near Hochatown
Hochatown Ziplines
Fast, well-run course. Ages 8+. Book ahead in peak season.
The Maze of Hochatown
Wooden maze, mostly covered (works in light rain). Good for 1-2 hours with kids.
Beavers Bend Safari Park
Drive-through animal park. Kids love it. Bring cash for the animal-feed pellets.
Beavers Bend State Park
The main outdoor draw. Trails, kayak rentals, Forest Heritage Center. Full state park guide →
